Subscriptions Now Overdue!

The subscriptions for this year (August 2011 – June 2012) is now overdue!

These must be paid by the end of February or we will have to consider that non-payers will not be allowed to participate in any activities such as camps, outings etc.

Just for your information the subscriptions fees cover:

  • Insurance for each member of the scout movement.
  • Monies that enable us to run activities at a reduced cost.
  • Monies to enable us to use the Church Hall and to store our camping equipment.

Without Money to cover insurance then we cannot accept liability for your children.

Bethany Christian Trust Sponsored Sleep Out – 23rd March

We are planning to take part in the annual Bethany Sponsored Sleepout on Friday 23rd March.

This local charity helps support the homeless in Edinburgh and Fife.

This event involves sleeping outside in the confines of Edinburgh City Chambers Quadrangle.

We won the shelter building competition last year!

We Need Your Talents!

With an ever growing troop (24 scouts at the last count), we are looking for your help.

Can you come along as a helper? I could be once a term or more often. Having a few more adults present would enable us to provide a more fulfilling programme.

Perhaps you have some talents in certain areas such as sports? or do you have an interesting job that you would be willing to come along and have a chat with the scouts about?

I have also attached the badge requirements for the scout challenge awards sp that you can see what kind of activities we do.

Please let us know if you are interested in helping – Chris@172scoutgroup.com

Summer Camp 2012

We are in the early stages of planning a summer camp.

We are looking at dates around the last week of July/First week in August.

More details to follow.
